Urmia

Urmia is the capital of West Azerbaijan Province and one of the oldest cities in Iran, located in the northwest of the country, near Lake Urmia. Due to its cultural diversity and the coexistence of various ethnic groups and religions, the city has held a special place from the past to the present. Its temperate climate, lush gardens, traditional bazaars, historical churches, and proximity to natural attractions such as Lake Urmia have made Urmia one of the major tourist destinations in northwestern Iran. Additionally, the city is widely renowned as one of the country’s agricultural hubs, particularly for the production of apples, grapes, and other horticultural products.
