Ardebil

Ardabil is one of Iran’s oldest cities and the capital of Ardabil Province, situated at the foothills of Mount Sabalan. Due to its cool climate, hot springs, lush nature, and rich historical background, the city is considered one of the most important tourist destinations in northwestern Iran. Ardabil is also globally renowned for housing the shrine of Sheikh Safi al-Din Ardabili, which is inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The historical bazaar, local cuisine, Sabalan honey, and handicrafts such as Ardabil carpets are among other attractions that draw many tourists to the city each year.
