Sheikh Safi al-Din Ishaq Ardabili was one of Iran’s great mystics and spiritual masters in the 8th century AH (14th century CE), and the Safavid order (tariqa) is attributed to him.<\/p>\n
Sheikh Safi’s historical importance is not limited to his mystical standing. His lineage and followers gained substantial power and influence in subsequent centuries, ultimately leading to the establishment of the Safavid state in Iran with the rise of Shah Ismail I.<\/p>\n
For this reason, the tomb of Sheikh Safi al-Din later gained special significance for the Safavids, becoming one of their most important pilgrimage sites and religious complexes.
